DESIGN AND THE PLAY INSTINCT BY PAUL RAND

DESIGN OBJECTIVE
From individual letterforms to bodies of text and grid systems, we explore typographic principles through a series of projects with increasingly complex parameters. The goal is to investigate the way type “looks and sounds” and interacts in order to understand how meaning is conveyed through the relationship between form and content.
I embarked on a book design project for "Design and the Play Instinct" by Paul Rand, seamlessly integrating the original images from the text to create a cohesive and visually engaging book design. By reimagining the visual communication of Rand's text, which initially lacked design elements, I crafted a harmonious and thoughtfully curated book experience.
Using Rand's text, I went on Indesign to carefully find an aesthetically pleasing way to display his texts and images in each page to emulate an art magazine. After doing so, I went ahead and used Photoshop to place the pdfs into what looks like a book thats been photographed by a professional.
